Your body needs proper amount of Vitamin D. Without this vitamin you may be affected by osteomalacia, if you're adult. Your child may get attacked by rickets. Are you consuming proper amount of Vitamin D? You have to ensure that you get proper amount of Vitamin D. But many people don't. Today, I'll try to tell you some names of foods from which you can get enough amount of Vitamin D.

Here are some names of foods:
1. Mushrooms: It is a good source of Vitamin D from non-animal source. An interesting fact is that the mushrooms can also synthesize itself when it comes to the exposure to the UV rays of the sun like humans. Mushrooms produce vitamin D2. But the animals produce vitamin D3. Wild mushrooms can be a great source of vitamin D. As the mushrooms which are grown commercially, are grown in the dark. And that's why these contain a very little amount of vitamin D2.
 
2. Salmon: Salmon is a very popular fish which is fatty. It is a great source of vitamin D. The production place of salmon can make a big difference. For an example, the wild salmon and thee farmed salmon won't contain the equal amount of vitamin D. The amount of vitamin D in salmon can also vary depending on the catching place and the time of catching.
 
3. Egg yolks: You have to remember that fishes are not the only source of vitamin D. You can get vitamin D from an egg. It is as well as a very nutritious food. Most of the protein can be got from the white portion of an egg. Yolks contain mostly fat, minerals and vitamins in the yolk. But you can get also get an amount of vitamin D from yolks.
 
Besides these, you can get vitamin D from these:
  • Cheese
  • Beef liver
  • Red meat
  • Vitamin D fortified foods such as orange juice, dairy products cereals etc.
  • Herring and sardines
